Safe Slope formed in August of 2011 to empower community members and help them organize to make the neighborhood safer, with the hope of inspiring a citywide network of community members who want to jumpstart resources in their own neighborhoods. We are working with businesses and local residents to organize “Safe Spaces” at businesses that are open late daily; a “Safe Walk” program, which will offer volunteer-run escorting services for locals who feel unsafe in the neighborhood; and other services and resources.
Brooklyn-based Safe Slope formed in August 2011 to provide services and resources to empower and protect
the communities of South Slope/Greenwood Heights/Windsor Terrace/Park Slope in the aftermath of multiple assaults and attempted assaults. We want to come together as a community to make our streets safe from violence.
