Frequently Asked Questions

When do you provide Safe Walks?

We currently operate during the following times:

  • Thursdays, 8:00pm-1:00am
  • Fridays, 8:00pm-3:00am
  • Saturdays, 8:00pm-3:00am

Hours are subject to change, based on need and volunteer availabilility. We may be able to extend the days and/or hours we currently offer. Until then:

Is Safe Walk only available for neighborhood residents who need a walk home?

No! At the moment, we are concerned about the safety of all people in our neighborhood—whether they live here or are visiting friends. We want to make our neighborhood feel safer for everyone. In the future we may just provide walks home, but while there is an increased risk, we aim to provide walks to any women and LGBTQ folks who would like one, no matter where they are going.

Can you walk more than one person at a time?

Yes. We are happy to “pick up” two or a few people from the same location and walk them to a single or separate locations.

Do you provide other services?

Please see our home page, Facebook page, and Twitter for updated information about events, news, etc. Please also see our Resources Page, which addresses a wider scope of violence prevention and response.

How can I help?

We are looking for volunteers to help us with a number of efforts. Please fill out our volunteer application.   As well, the best way for us to be most effective is learn from the community about what individuals need. You can help us by filling out our community needs assessment survey.
